Overview

Business Communication Strategies is an intermediate-to-advanced, task-based oral communication textbook crafted specifically for professionals and language learners navigating the international corporate landscape. Rooted in an innovative, scaffolded methodology, this course smoothly transitions students from highly controlled target phrasing to authentic, unscripted situational fluency. The text delivers rigorous oral practice in the core competencies modern executives demand: from structuring high-stakes negotiations and pitching professional presentations to handling constructive criticism, resolving intergroup conflict, and leading executive meetings. Backed by integrated audio components and data-driven reading selections—including applications of Bloom’s Taxonomy and Edward de Bono's Six Thinking Hats—this classroom-ready solution maximizes active student speaking time while minimizing teacher talk.
