Overview
This book features 48 full-color animal story cards -- beautifully illustrated by Ken Rainbow Cougar Edwards -- with folktales collected from various Indian tribes across North America. Each page of the book includes four cards, which can be cut out along the dotted lines or simply left in the book. Some examples from this interesting collection of tales are "How Chipmunk got her stripes" and "Why dogs don't talk." These stories (100-200 words each) make for great quick-hitting classroom activities: they can be used for retelling, for class or group discussion, or for exemplifying or identifying language features.Author Biography
